Acumen Fiscal Intermediary is one of the leading fiscal intermediaries in the nation, and we help hundreds of parents be in charge of the supports they and their children receive.

What is the difference between a provider agency and Acumen?
A provider agency is a company that provides support services. If you use a provider, they would supply the staff coming into your home. Because the staff work for the provider agency, the agency is responsible for all the employees responsibilities - hiring, firing, training, payroll withholding and filing, which comes at a higher cost.

With Acumen, you are the employer. You recruit, hire, schedule and train your own employees. Not only can you get more support for the same dollars by being in charge, you are in total control.

How do I know if I should use a provider agency or Acumen?
Being an employer is not for everyone. You are encouraged to weigh the pros and cons. There are provider agencies in States that do a good job and could be considered. But, if you want to employ your own support staff, be in total control of your family support services, do the required paperwork, and get more services for the money, Acumen is your choice.
